Visitor Center Staff (Part Time)

A Typical Day
The Visitor Center Staff is responsible for greeting customers and provide excellent service. Conduct the hands-on daily visitor center retail and café operations. Works as part of a team to keep the visitor center and all work areas clean and presentable.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide excellent and friendly customer service
- Provide proper serving etiquette during and event
- Demonstrate basic numeric understanding to open and close cash register, accurately count money, process a sale, collect money and provide correct change
- Maintain a clean, well-organized and safe work environment
- Understand first in, first out rotation to ensure freshness of products
- Provide guest direction for self-guided tours
- Keeps current about Hilmar Cheese Company, Hilmar Ingredients and visitor center catering, tours, cafe and retail information in order to answer customer questions
- Place high priority on food safety and sanitation by understanding and executing HCC’s food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Preparing food and beverages with required ingredients and equipment
- Hold self and others accountable to HCC’s food safety & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates.
What You Will Need
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to work weekends
- Food Handler Certification (within 30 days of employment)
- Responsible Beverage Service Certification (within 60 days of employment)
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
What Will Put You Ahead
- Prior restaurant or food service experience
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Software such as Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience with Point of Sale System
- Experience with credit card IC Verify program
- Experience with Fed Ex shipping system
