A Typical Day

To monitor and facilitate compliance with Hilmar Cheese Company quality standards and requirements for the manufacture, storage, delivery, testing, and usage of materials and services that directly impact the food safety and/or quality of finished HCC products.
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the ongoing development of the vendor auditing program including risk assessments.
  • Perform initial and ongoing audits for vendor manufacturing, storage, transportation and 3rd party lab testing.
  • Develop and manage procedures for the evaluation of incoming supplies 
  • Review and approve material planning and control specifications for raw materials while working closely with multiple departments
  • Responsible for auditing procedures to release incoming supplies for usage and to track inventories for proper rotation and storage
  • Participate in internal and external mock recalls
  • Complete audit visit reports in a timely manner
  • Facilitate communication on supplier non-conformance
  • Assist in customer, third party, and regulatory audits as needed
  • Collection and maintenance of vendor documentation
  • Management of supplier/service provider Cause & Correction program

What You Will Need

  • High School Diploma and 10 years related experience OR Associate's degree and 5 years’ experience OR Bachelor's degree plus 3 years related experience
  • Food Safety and Manufacturing Quality Auditing training
  • Tactical knowledge of production operations management for quality 
  • Software program proficiency in:  Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree plus 5 years related experience  OR Master’s degree plus 1 year related experience
  • 5 years of work experience in a Quality Assurance Management role that is inclusive of Food Safety and Manufacturing Quality Auditing
     

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The work is primarily performed in an office environment and the physical demands are characteristic of a mostly sedentary role.  Specific details of the essential functions of the position is available in the Job Safety Analysis, made available on request.
