Supplier Assurance Coordinator

A Typical Day
To monitor and facilitate compliance with Hilmar Cheese Company quality standards and requirements for the manufacture, storage, delivery, testing, and usage of materials and services that directly impact the food safety and/or quality of finished HCC products.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for the ongoing development of the vendor auditing program for vendor manufacturing, storage, transportation and 3rd party laboratory.
- Complete audit visit reports in a timely manner.
- Leading a team in performing ingredient hazard analysis of raw materials and supplier risk assessment.
- Develop and manage procedures for the evaluation of incoming suppliers
- Review and approve direct materials and control specifications for direct materials while working closely with multiple departments.
- Manage items and suppliers including creating new items and suppliers, deactivating inactive items and suppliers.
- Participate in internal and external mock recalls
- Facilitate the review and approval of the Supplier Cause and Correction forms, as appropriate.
- Assist in customer, third party, and regulatory audits as appropriate.
- Collection and maintenance of vendor documentation
- Lead the supplier verification program of ingredients.
- Provide support to customers, certifying agencies, regulatory inspectors, and both internal and external stakeholders regarding supplier assurance inquiries
What You Will Need
- Bachelor's degree plus 3 years related experience
- Food Safety and Manufacturing Quality Auditing training
- Tactical knowledge of production operations management for quality
- Software program proficiency in: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- HACCP Certified, PCQI required.
- Experience with Kosher, Halal, proven knowledge of GFSI schemes and standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including procurement, quality assurance, compliance, and operations.
- Ability of managing supplier partnerships, fostering trust, and evaluating issues, recommend solutions, monitor corrective actions and verify effectiveness in a timely and professional manner.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor's degree plus 5 years related experience OR Master’s degree plus 1 year related experience
- 5 years of work experience in Supplier Assurance Management role that is inclusive of Food Safety and Manufacturing Quality Auditing
- FSPV certified.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
