Standardization and PdM Coordinator

A Typical Day

Assist in efforts for implementation of a preventive/predictive maintenance program to ensure reliability and maintainability of rotating equipment and ensures the standardization of maintenance best practices and processes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in efforts for implementation of a preventive/predictive maintenance program to ensure reliability and maintainability of rotating equipment and ensures the standardization of maintenance best practices and processes.
  • Responsibilities
  • Mandate adherence to all safety guidelines and work to provide a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program to ensure an efficient and productive operation of the plants, processes and equipment focusing on rotating equipment (separators, decanters, temas, and clarifiers). 
  • Work closely with Plant Managers, Supervisors and Engineering to identify and resolve any equipment performance issues.  
  • Coordinate with planner/scheduler to ensure that correct PPM services, parts and inspections are scheduled and performed when due.
  • Continually review and refine PPM frequencies; based on record review, equipment histories and data analysis.
  • Work with maintenance teams and SME to develop and standardize PM's and Task instructions to ensure consistent format, structure and content. 
  • Review with Planners, Engineering, Reliability and Maintenance teams to ensure part standardization of new system installs.
  • Work with Training Department on development of task instructions for the training program to ensure the task material is being delivered accordingly.
  • Develop and implement asset care solutions to eliminate continual equipment failures. 
  • Devote ample time and attention to formal and on-the-job training to enable mechanics to maintain/develop a high level of expertise with both new and existing equipment.
  • Communicate with the Plant Manager and Planner scheduler to schedule and coordinate maintenance items to be completed on a daily basis.
  • Conduct weekly plant inspections.
  • Maintain an “On Call” status for breakdowns.
  • Promote and foster effective “partnering” relationships with all Operations personnel on an ongoing basis. 
  • Provide and promote “excellence” in Customer Service.   
  • Devote time in plants to coaching and mentoring.

What You Will Need

  • High School Diploma and 6 years related experience OR Associate's degree and 5 years’ experience OR Bachelor's degree plus 3 years related experience OR Master’s degree.
  • Supervisory/leadership experience
  • Software program proficiency in: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Tactical knowledge of production operations management for quality, yield and cost.
  • New equipment implementation through vendor facilitation and training.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree plus 5 years related experience  OR Master’s degree plus 1 year related experience
  • Proficient in SAP program
  • Completion of HCC internal technical training programs

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The role has periods of time when the work environment is sedentary and conducted in an office environment balanced with frequent occasions that require prolonged walking or standing, lifting/ carrying/handling moderate weight objects on a regular basis.   Is required to wear PPE and have a regular presence in manufacturing and warehouse environments in both temperature controlled and uncontrolled locations. Must frequently interact with people verbally.  Specific details of the essential functions of the position is available in the Job Safety Analysis, made available on request.
