Sr. Construction Project Coordinator

A Typical Day

The Sr. Construction Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting the implementation of capital plans that accomplish goals of the Steering Team and the Strategic Plan of Hilmar Cheese Company. At the direction of the Construction Manager, coordinate short and long term construction.

Job Responsibilities
  • Implement capital plan with projects meeting schedule and being completed on time, on budget for assigned areas.
  • Prepare design concept drawings, cost estimates, and project scoping for capital plan.
  • Manage projects using the Engineering Project Management Program SOP.
  • Coordinate and facilitate projects with operations, maintenance, engineering and outside contractors.
  • Ensure integrity of existing building and structural assets.
  • Work closely with teams associated with the application, research and development of products and processes.
  • Ensure engineering drawings (P&ID’s, equipment layout drawings, etc.) are kept updated with all assigned engineering projects and system modifications.
  • Maximize effectiveness of outside resources (specifically construction contractors, stainless welding crews, mechanical contractors, and installation contractors) through daily interaction with crew leaders and well-defined project scoping.
  • Monitor and ensure that outside resources are following HCC requirements for security, quality, food safety, employee safety, and good manufacturing practices.
What You Will Need
  • English skills must be proficient to understand, read, write and speak English
  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution and 5 years of construction experience, preferably in the food & beverage industry OR Bachelor's degree and 2 years of construction experience, preferably in the food & beverage industry.
  • Software program proficiency of intermediate level is required in: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Project scheduling
  • Process and sanitary equipment design and installation, including controls
  • Strategic knowledge of production operations management for quality, yield, cost and efficiency
  • Project cost justification
  • Software program proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Project.

Working surface is primarily concrete. Where standing is required, there are rubber mats which are one-half inch thick.
