A Typical Day

The Learning and Development Specialist will be responsible for creating and implementing training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of Hilmar Cheese employees. You will work closely with managers and staff to identify training needs and will facilitate training sessions to ensure that employees have the necessary skills to perform their roles effectively.

Job Responsibilities

  • Facilitate training for both in-person and virtual audiences and utilize technology to boost the transfer of knowledge for blended learning environments.
  • Create training materials such as presentations, handouts, and online modules that are engaging and effective.
  • Conduct training needs analyses to identify skill and knowledge gaps within the organization and support the intake of new learning requests from stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and deliver training solutions to varying audiences.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends to ensure the continuous improvement of training programs and offerings.
  • Create detailed assessments to measure training impact and alignment to training outcomes.
  • Ensure that all training is imported, assigned, and tracked within the Learning Management System (LMS).

What You Will Need

  • High School Diploma and 4 years’ related experience OR Associate's degree and 2 years’ related experience OR Bachelor's degree plus 1 year related experience  OR Master’s degree
  • Experience in Human Resources, Education, or another related field
  • Ability to take initiative, problem-solve during ambiguous situations, use sound judgment, and maintain flexibility and composure during change
  • Demonstrated ability to work at a varied pace, adhere to schedules and deadlines, prioritize workload, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal and technical presentation skills
  • Skills in identifying and resolving problems
  • Ability to foster trust, influence, coach and guide talent at all career stages
  • Proficient verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently to meet company goals and timelines

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 years’ related experience OR Master’s degree plus 1 year related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and managing a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Demonstrated experience developing e-learning for adult learners across multiple departments.
  • Certifications or experience in Clifton Strengths, Influencer Model, InsideOut Coaching. 

Physical Demands

The work is primarily performed in an office environment and the physical demands are characteristic of a mostly sedentary role.  Specific details of the essential functions of the position is available in the Job Safety Analysis, made available on request.
