Reliability Excellence Manager

A Typical Day

The Reliability Excellence Manager shall provide leadership for an Asset Management Plan that will maximize asset reliability while minimizing overall cost of ownership. This position is responsible for the Company’s installed asset base and will develop and administer processes to assure optimum utilization and operating effectiveness of the assets.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop, monitor and continuously improve an Asset Management Plan.
  • Use various data analysis techniques to develop engineering solutions for issues that negatively impact plant operations, equipment availability, performance, capacity, product quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues.
  • Support the implementation of new and modified equipment through evaluation of reliability and maintainability. Ensure appropriate PM programs are built around new equipment and critical spare parts are acquired.
  • Periodically evaluate effectiveness of PM/PdM program and make improvements as necessary to increase reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Develop training program for maintenance staff in the use of various predictive reliability techniques and protocols.
  • Review equipment failure and facilitate root-cause and root-cause failure analysis. Recommend corrective and preventative action.
  • Understand the economic impact the Asset Management Plan has on the Company’s finances. This shall include the Plan’s financial impact as it relates to equipment lifecycle, maintenance programs, parts inventory, equipment uptime, throughput, quality and safety.
  • Routinely monitor and review the asset management program to assure the metrics are being achieved. Recommend corrective action if metrics fall short.
  • Communicate Asset Management Program progress to management and other departments.
What You Will Need
  • Bachelors or Advanced Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial plant reliability and asset management.
  • Working knowledge of SAP pertaining to maintenance processes and control of asset Master Data.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Training in FMEA, Predictive Technologies, Statistical Process Control, Six Sigma methodology, Reliability Modeling and Prediction, fault tree analysis.
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification, Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) certification and/or Maintenance Management Certification (MMC).

Working surface is primarily concrete. Where standing is required, there are rubber mats which are one-half inch thick.
