Process Efficiency Supervisor

A Typical Day

The Process Efficiency Supervisor supports the company’s strategic objectives through a focus on product quality and efficiency.  This will be achieved by working as a liaison between the production staff, Engineering, and R&D/Technical to ensure that all pertinent quality and production issues are managed to meet or exceed expectations of the plan.
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and refine existing manufacturing processes and increase efficiency and cost effectiveness in current production.
  • Assist Production Coordinator/Plant Trainer with facilitating training to enhance all staff skills.
  • Monitor and evaluate all plant processes with emphasis on efficiency and yield/loss opportunity with focus on department-specific procedures/frequency.
  • Where applicable, monitors IP vs. FP results and manages in process targets and parameters to maintain yield and quality results.
  • KPI’s – facilitate implementation of key KPI’s and drive systems that will improve performance to key departmental KPI’s.
  • Send out any needed reports on process efficiencies to Production Manager/Coordinator. 
  • Effectively communicate process changes, improvements, and trouble-shooting issues with production supervision staff, Engineering and R&D/Technical.
  • Provide ground level support to Engineering and R&D/Technical staff relative to investigation and trouble-shooting relevant process issues.
  • Work closely with Maintenance to ensure ongoing problems are effectively handled in order to meet yield, quality, and overall plant efficiencies.
  • CAPA resource for investigation, implementation, and verification of production related problem solving.
  • Off-hours availability for plant related equipment or process problem solving. 
  • Must be able to work non-traditional hours and maintain "on call" status. 

What You Will Need

  • High School Diploma and 4 years related experience, OR Associate's degree plus 3 years related experience, OR Bachelor's plus 1 year related experience. 
  • Able to demonstrate leadership, critical thinking, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Software such as Word, Excel and Outlook. 
  • Experience working with SAP.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 year related experience OR Master's degree in related field. 
  • Experience and extensive knowledge of the production processes. 
  • Demonstrate keen attention to detail, initiative and proactivity.
  • Proficient in SAP system. 

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This role requires physical exertion, exposure to potentially hazardous conditions or safety hazards. The majority of time is spending walking or standing.  There are occasional periods of sedentary work.  Is required to wear PPE and have a regular presence in manufacturing and warehouse environments in both temperature controlled and uncontrolled locations. Must frequently interact with people verbally.  Specific details of the essential functions of the position is available in the Job Safety Analysis, made available on request.
