A Typical Day

The Occupational Health Services Administrator will be responsible for administrating on-site first aid treatment and injury care processes for all injured employees. Manage Workers’ Compensation processes as a liaison between Site Safety & Corporate Safety, as well as the company’s third-party Workers’ Compensation Administrator and medical treating facilities.  Also, promotes good health and acts as a liaison between employees and clinical care services. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site first aid treatment to injured employees.
  • Promote involvement and engagement to achieve healthcare objectives.
  • Responsible for the contents of First-Aid kits.
  • Coordination with Site Safety for the collection and input of injury data on the electronic storage system.
  • Administer on-site drug testing for reasonable suspicion and post-accident.
  • Schedule and facilitate first aid and CPR training.
  • Schedule and conduct Fit and Spirometry testing.
  • Responsible for portions of the hearing conservation program.
  • Organization and maintenance of department Workers’ Compensation files, schedules, records, test, bulletin board and correspondence, including confidential information.
  • Notifies insurer of Workers’ Compensation injuries/illnesses and follow up on medical appointments.
  • Alternative Light Duty Program.
  • Update internal incident investigation tracking documents as information becomes available.
  • Communication with Corporate Safety regarding Workers’ Compensation deficiencies.
  • Preparation and submission of all Workers’ Compensation documentation, such as DWC Forms, wage statements and job descriptions.
  • Manages OSHA logs and summaries for posting.
  • Coordination with Safety personnel for special PPE equipment orders and safety glasses program.
  • Coordinates annual first aid kit/AED audits with the company’s designated Medical Director.
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with Safety department and external support agencies.
  • Works with Company’s designated Medical Director to create first aid protocols and conducts training for all managers/coordinators and supervisors.
  • Coordinate additional medical treatment with third-party facilities and Workers’ Compensation Administrator.
  • Transport employees for additional medical treatment for workplace injuries beyond first aid when applicable.
  • Attend Safety Department meetings as needed.
  • Annual completion of OSHA required safety training.
  • Completion of HIPAA Awareness Certification training.
  • General administrative duties as required.
  • Promote Company Culture.

What You Will Need

  • English skills must be proficient to understand, read, write and speak English.
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • 3 years of  NP/ RN/LVN/LPN/CNA/EMT or equivalent experience.  
  • CPR/First Aid Certification by an accredited facility.
  • Maintain evening and weekend on call status as needed.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Valid driver license and a copy of insurance card or copy of declaration page which meets minimum insurance coverage limits.
  • Required to travel by personal vehicle to execute job duties.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • 1 year of administering Workers’ Compensation claims.
  • Active NP/RN Certification or equivalent.
