Network Administrator II

A Typical Day

The Network Administrator II may will be responsible for researching, developing, implementing, and maintaining software, systems, applications, security, and network configurations. Additionally, they will provide technical support and guidance to users, perform system backups and recovery, install patches, updates, and upgrades, and create, test, and maintain a disaster recovery plan. The Network Administrator II will also help to maintain and support the ongoing development and use of business systems within the company.

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure stability, reliability, uptime, high availability, performance, security and integrity of the network. 
  • Configuration network switches, routers, firewalls, and external network circuits.
  • Network perimeter security, firewall policy compliance, A.V., spam filter, and URL content filtering support.    
  • Setup and implementation of cloud security compliance for federated domains.
  • IPSec and BGP configuration and support. 
  • Desktop and enterprise applications installations, upgrades, testing, and deployment.
  • Design, implementation and management of VOIP systems.
  • Planning, coordination, and implementation network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware. 
  • Leads and manages technical team to troubleshoot and resolve technical operational issues for business and technical staff.
  • Refines, automates, manages, and documents processes, policies and plans. 
  • Communicates with those who are part of the systems user community and management in a simple convincing manner and on all levels with peers.
  • Use software to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks.
  • Analyzes performance records to determine the need for repair or replacement. 
  • Establishes and tests/validates disaster recovery plans and procedures.
  • Communicates with those who are part of the systems user community and management in a simple convincing manner and on all levels with peers.
  • Ensures the stability, reliability, uptime, high availability, performance, security and integrity of systems environment.
  • Performs systems’ security hardening, compliance and maintenance.
  • Demonstrates very good analytical and technical leadership skills.
What You Will Need
  • High School Diploma and 10 years related experience OR Associate's degree in computer science or Engineering and 5 years related experience OR Bachelor's in computer science or related field plus 3 years related experience OR Master’s degree
  • Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary team

  • Working knowledge of server-related technology (e.g. RAID, SAN, cluster, services, DBMS, and network applications).  
  • Understanding of networking concepts: TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, Routing, Switching and Firewalls, VLANs, QoS, IP Addressing, etc.
  • LDAP, Kerberos, SAML configuration and support.  
  • IPSec and BGP configuration and support. 
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Bachelor's in computer science or related field plus 5 years related experience OR Master’s degree plus 1 year related experience
  • Food processing and dairy industry experience 
  • MCSE, MCSI, CCNA, CCDA, CCNP certifications.
