Manufacturing Optimization Analyst

A Typical Day

The Manufacturing Optimization Analyst is responsible for providing analysis skills and expertise to identify business opportunities, promote and strengthen problem solving efforts and enhance a deeper understanding of existing and new data.  Manage data in a way that makes it highly accessible and valuable.  Lead cross functional problem solving teams to drive problem resolution, variation reduction and continuous improvement efforts.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex data sets using process knowledge, advanced analytics and statistics to reach concrete conclusions and draw out complex correlations.
  • Compile findings and conclusions into written and verbal reports that are easily understood and that provide data based recommendations.
  • Publish weekly analysis of technical process data.
  • Compile and maintain data sets for easy access by others.
  • Creating tools and systems to organize, compile, and retrieve data so others can easily utilize relevant data.
  • Interact with cross functional groups to draw out data and assist with problem analysis and problem solving of business and technical issues.
  • Demonstrate self-leadership and the ability to operate independently.
  • Annual completion of OSHA required safety training.
  • Active participation and ownership in your training and development program and associated activities, classes and events, which will be held before, during, after shifts and during scheduled days off. 
  • Help coach and train teammates and participate in on the job, buddy training.
  • Place high priority on food safety and sanitation by understanding and executing HCC’s food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Hold self and others accountable to HCC’s food safety & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates. 
  • Participate in food safety and sanitation root cause analysis and improvement activities when required. 
  • Prioritize safety above all other job duties by having a safety first approach at all times.
  • Report any safety issues, observations, opportunities to your teams and follow up. 
  • Participate in departmental safety teams.

  • Achieve common business goals through cooperative alignment with all departments.

What You Will Need

  • English skills must be proficient to understand, read, write and speak English
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mathematics, Business or Science  and 3 years’ experience in process analysis, analytics, engineering, science or related field
  • Ability to travel by air and car up to 10-15% of the time to execute job duties.
  • Proficiency in any one of the following required:  data science, statistics, analytics, or programming.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Outlook, Word and Excel

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Masters of Science in Engineering, Mathematics, Business or Science  
  • Black Belt or Six Sigma certification.
  • Demonstrated experience leading process improvement and/or variation reduction efforts
  • Demonstrated experience in advanced analytics or data science techniques.
  • Project Management certification or experience
  • Knowledge of database principles to encourage efficient data structures and retrieval techniques  
  • Understanding of technical aspects of production operations
  • Dairy manufacturing experience

  • Exposure to dust, fumes, smoke, gases, or other irritating substances.

  • Exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity depending on time of year.

Working surface is primarily concrete. Where standing is required, there are rubber mats which are one-half inch thick.
