Marketing Manager

A Typical Day

The person in this role will be responsible for executing the marketing strategy for Hilmar Cheese and Ingredients businesses to achieve our growth aspiration.  You responsibilities will range from supporting new product launches to leading advertising and promotion activities to executing our brand strategy.  You will work closely with R&D and Applications teams as well as our Sales teams to correctly position our products in the market place and successfully support them with marketing activities and marketing assets. You will own the relationships with media and be responsible for developing and implementing our publications and advertising strategy. 

 

This position is open to remote candidates and may be performed anywhere in the United States, except for in the state of Colorado and Connecticut. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Support new product development and launches by leading marketing work streams, developing and  executing launch strategies, producing marketing collateral, and providing project management support to the category managers.
  • Partner with the marketing agencies and communications team to develop and maintain marketing materials including presentations, brochures, sell sheets, posters, flyers, ads, videos, etc.
  • Lead the global branding efforts including developing and maintaining brand style guidelines, website/ad content, and working with the legal support to keep brand registrations up-to-date.
  • Lead awareness efforts, including advertising, trade shows and conferences participation. This includes alignment of advertising efforts to sales and marketing objectives, vendor selection, content development, budgeting and implementation (ad placement, bookings, and event coordination and logistics).
  • Lead market intelligence and insights efforts including collecting and capturing market insights through third partings and internal resources, identifying changes in markets and customer base and ensuring that the insights are shared with sales and product development teams.
  • Work with category managers and sales teams to support development and implementation of integrated strategic marketing plans.

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or other related field plus 7 years’ of experience in marketing, focused on tactical marketing OR Master’s degree plus 3 years’ experience focused on tactical marketing.
  • Experience in managing and executing advertising activities
  • Experience in managing brand assets
  • Expertise in social media, copywriting, and event planning
  • Detail oriented and has strong project management skills to track and execute against deliverables
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills, with an ability to use data and insights to inform decisions
  • MS Power Point and Excel skills required at intermediate level
  • Proven ability to build relationships
     

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or other related field and 10 years’ related experience in marketing, focused on tactical marketing OR Master’s degree plus 5 years’ related experience focused on tactical marketing.
  • Experience in leading new product launches.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The work is primarily performed in an office environment and the physical demands are characteristic of a mostly sedentary role.  Specific details of the essential functions of the position is available in the Job Safety Analysis, made available on request.
