Lead - Catering and Deliveries

A Typical Day

Under the direction of the manager, the Visitor Center Catering Lead is responsible for assisting in daily function oversight of the catering and corporate food orders with excellent customer service. Respond to inquiries, gather details, schedule, and lead staff at events. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Utilize exceptional customer service and sales skills to respond to calls and emails to book events catering, room use and internal food deliveries 
  • Maintain information in the catering calendar
  • Obtain details of events or food order to generate and update BEO (Banquet Event Order) and room layout, if required
  • Lead room transition and communicate  layout to staff , if needed
  • Work with manager to schedule staff for event setup, food preparation, front of the house service, and cleanup/dishes
  • Create and maintain client accounts, invoicing clients, obtain payments, and charge out all events
  • Manage and organize catering inventory, such as linens, China, flatware, glassware etc.
  • Coordinating any rentals, florals, etc. upon client’s request, if needed
  • Schedule, host and clean-up client food tastings upon request (infrequent)

What You Will Need

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution plus 2 years’ related experience.
  • English skills must be proficient to understand, read, write and speak English.
  • Computer Proficient: Able to use Word and Excel
  • Prior experience with Aloha POS system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely via phone and email
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and move tables and chairs
  • Must be able to work weekends

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The role has periods of time when the work environment is sedentary and conducted in an office environment balanced with frequent occasions that require prolonged walking or standing, lifting/ carrying/handling moderate weight objects on a regular basis.   Is required to wear PPE and have a regular presence in manufacturing and warehouse environments in both temperature controlled and uncontrolled locations. Must frequently interact with people verbally.  Specific details of the essential functions of the position is available in the Job Safety Analysis, made available on request.
