Inventory Manager

A Typical Day

This role facilitates near term stock level, allocation, and strategies for key customers to optimize the perfect order. Develops and uses data and metrics to guide decisions. The role is responsible for ensuring that impacts to customers are identified, tracked and communicated personally and through customer facing and logistics teams.  Interfaces with Demand / Supply Planning teams for forecasting, planning, managing, warehousing of products to meet sales objectives.
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive improvement in service levels to customers.  Strive for continuous improvement in assuring we get our products to our customers as ordered.  
  • Imagines inventory and logistics methods to be faster, better and more cost effective and translates ideas to actions.   Conceptualizes an inventory playbook that is beyond current industry expectation. 
  • Routinely create and analyze data, develop recommendations and implement plans for customers that determine order fulfillment
  • Develop, manage and communicate metrics such as Perfect Order to support Sales org in goal attainment and achieve superior customer experience.  
  • Performs gap analysis to understand absence of Perfect Order and leads projects to collaborate, design and then implement customer focused processes such as order management, inventory visibility, risk mitigation, shipping constraints and similar barriers all with the aim of superior execution of the customer experience.   This includes performing root cause analysis and creating action plans. 
  • Partner closely with S & OP, Sales and Category teams to manages near term inventory and assure fluid communications. 
  • Supports outbound freight and 3rd party warehouse teams and assures fluid communication. 

What You Will Need

  • High School Diploma and 6 years’ experience in logistics or inventory management, demand planning, production planning, sales or product management, OR Associate’s degree and 4 years’ experience in demand planning, production planning, sales or product management, OR Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and 3 years’ related experience OR Master’s degree.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with use of Pivot Tables and designing spreadsheet models that assist in decision making.  
  • Experience in software planning tools such as SAP/PPDS-APO or other ERP demand planning tools sets preferred. 
  • Demonstrated cross functional communication and collaborations skills, detail orientation and ability to follow through. 
  • Demonstrates customer centric philosophy and ability to adapt and continuously improve.
     

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and 5 years’ experience in demand planning, production planning, sales or product management OR Master’s degree and 1 year experience in demand planning, production planning, sales or product management.
  • Proficiency in software planning tools such as SAP/PPDS-APO or other ERP demand planning tools sets preferred.
  • National or global experience in Food Industry, Cheese or Dairy Ingredients company.
     

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The work is primarily performed in an office environment and the physical demands are characteristic of a mostly sedentary role. Specific details of the essential functions of the position is available in the Job Safety Analysis, made available on request.
