Financial Analyst III - Ingredients

A Typical Day

The Financial Analyst III is responsible for the financial support of the commercial ingredients sales team and other corporate clients. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis and provides financial reporting and counsel to senior leadership at HCC.  

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance or related field plus 5 years’ related experience OR Master’s degree plus 1 year related experience.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Software with strong excel skills.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Ability to identify deficiencies in control or noncompliance with accounting policies or procedures.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years’ related experience or Master’s degree plus 2 years’ related experience.
  • Finance or Accounting Certification (CPA, CMA, FP&A).
  • SAP experience.
  • Dairy Industry Experience.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The work is primarily performed in an office environment and the physical demands are characteristic of a mostly sedentary role.  Specific details of the essential functions of the position is available in the Job Safety Analysis, made available on request. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Support Strategic Objectives driven by Strategic analyst & leadership.
  • Analysis of Financial performance throughout the month and at month end. Examples of this analysis includes sales, operational expenses, various GL accounts inventory, and overall profitability.
  • Lead the Ingredients Business monthly P&L Forecasting Process.  This includes, but is not limited to sales/pricing by customer and product, operational performance (ex. Yields), milk costs, Direct & Allocated Costs of Production, and SG&A.
  • Support quality department with strategic targets and implementing KPIs to meet operational targets.
  • Ensure management teams understand cheese sales’ performance measures and identify opportunities to improve financial performance.
  • Support the understanding and management of inventory management including cost projections and working capital projections.
  • Quarterly analysis of customer & product profitability.
  • Assist with pricing modeling for quarterly customer contract negotiations.
