A Typical Day

The Customer Care Specialist is responsible for supporting business needs related to customer relations and customer service for all domestic and international Hilmar Cheese Company customers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage liaisons related to product feedback, including communicating directly with customers.
  • Effectively respond to customers’ quality needs and concerns, ensuring response within a timely manner.
  • Research, facilitate and coordinate cases that stem from customer requests, working with internal cross-functional teams and be liaison between HCC and customers.
  • Lead investigations and have understanding of root causes.
  • Draft customer feedback reports.
  • Manage sensitive and highly critical issues, being the liaison between internal and external customers.
  • Perform trend analysis pertaining to customers and related issues.   
  • Feedback analysis and reporting and related improvement efforts.
  • Coordinates with internal and external customers for product documentation, including questionnaires, sales documents, and customers’ letters/statements. 
  • Verify, and process debit and credit memo, and return processes.

What You Will Need


  • High School Diploma plus 4 years’ related experience, or Associate’s degree plus 3 years’ related experience, or Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year related experience.
  • Experience in Food Safety, Lab, or Quality Assurance.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Excellent writing and technical editing skills.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with external and internal customers.
  • Critical thinking and analytical abilities.
  • Understanding of root cause analysis
  • Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook at intermediate skill level.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years’ related experience.
  • Experience with SharePoint and PDF.
  • Root cause analysis certification

Physical Demands

The work is primarily performed in an office environment and the physical demands are characteristic of a mostly sedentary role.  Specific details of the essential functions of the position is available in the Job Safety Analysis, made available on request.
