Corp Lab Services Coordinator

A Typical Day

The Corporate Lab Services Coordinator (CLSC) works with interdisciplinary management teams to plan, organize, direct, and lead personnel and work processes which improve food quality and safety. Continuously work on method development and implementation of new instrumentation technology that enables improved efficiency, accuracy, precession, and reliability of lab operation.  The CLSC will have intimate familiarity with the key elements of the quality and food safety strategic plan. The CLSC will work cohesively with Quality, Operations and Technical teams.  The CLSC will be developed to take on lateral, and potentially upward roles in the Food Safety & Quality organization.

Job Responsibilities

•Provide technical expertise in maintaining and troubleshooting food testing methods and  instruments to improve cheese and ingredients manufacturing
•Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, Instrument vendor hands on training, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
•Interpret, evaluate and communicate complex data, identifying pattern and related issues in internal and outside lab operation. 
•Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigation.
•Develop, qualify, implement, and verify test methods for analysis of various sample matrices, using a variety of techniques.
•Maintain and continuously improve test method accuracy, precession, repeatability, and reproducibility 
•Identify techniques, procedure, protocols, that will enable gain in efficiency, productivity, reliability and reduce cost of the Cheese and Ingredients lab operations.
•Monitors new process and improvement projects to ensure sustainment.
•Collaborates with Quality, Operations and process improvement teams to develop short and long-range quality performance goals.
•Achieve common business goals through cooperative alignment with all departments.

What You Will Need

•Bachelor’s degree in microbiology Food science, Biochemistry or Chemical sciences and 3 years of related experience or a Master’s Degree and one year related experience.
•Experience in conducting failure analysis and root cause investigation
•Ability to use rigor, logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions
•Possess ability to communicate effectively with internal & external cross-functional teams
•Ability to work well in a fast paced “hands on” environment
•Detail oriented, well organized and follows GMP lab factory guidelines
•Understands daily lab processes, bench work and production processes
•Understanding of DOE  

What Will Put You Ahead

•Bachelor’s degree in microbiology Food science, Biochemistry or Chemical sciences and five years of related experience or a Master’s Degree and two plus years of related experience.
•Research experience  
•HACCP experience    
•Prior dairy food manufacturing experience
•Experience in manufacturing best practices and laboratory management (QC)
