Compensation & Benefits Analyst (Remote)

A Typical Day

This position provides support to the compensation and benefits team in the delivery and administration of the company’s compensation programs.  This position may conduct market research and analysis on compensation benchmarks and trends. Researches salary range data through multiple sources and assists Total Rewards with FLSA testing and annual wage assessment processes. This role is responsible for managing most aspects of the company compensation systems to ensure the highest level service to employees.  Additionally provides analysis for benefits such as Health Plan administration and 401(k) plan. Produces both ad hoc and routine reporting to meet business needs.  Additionally, this position will respond to employment/wage verification inquiries and other administrative support duties.

 

This position is open to remote candidates and may be performed anywhere in the United States, except for in the state of Colorado and Connecticut.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the HR and leads of the business to support and provide them with relevant analytics and insights.
  • Work closely with our TA team and provide guidance and recommendation on offers for new hires and transfers.
  • Lead and support compensation processes including the annual compensation review, promotions, transfer, gender pay analysis and equity reviews for our salary basis and hourly paid populations. 
  • Supports bonus and recognition processes.
  • Conduct job evaluations and make compensation recommendations for existing employees.  Conducts FLSA testing. 
  • Support and provide input to the compensation and benefits modeling and budgeting 
  • Lead and participate in audit procedures to ensure data integrity between HR and payroll systems. Is integral in annual compliance testing process and supports both internal and external audit inquiry. 
  • Respond timely to EDD and other wage verification inquiries
  • Assists in the preparation and distribution of total compensation/total rewards statements 
  • Conducts analysis of benefit programs under guidance of the TR Manager.  This includes fraud, waste and abuse diagnostic support. 
     


 

What You Will Need

  • High School diploma plus 7 years’ related experience, or Associate’s degree plus 5 years’ related experience, or Bachelor’s degree in a Business plus 3 years’ related experience or a Master’s degree plus 1 year related experience.
  • Excellent multi-tasking, time-management and prioritization skills
  • Knowledge of government regulations and compliance standards affecting compensation programs (FLSA, CA Fair Pay Act, etc.)
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, with strong working knowledge of other MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Access)
  • Data analysis skills that include data collating, inspection and benchmarking
  • Proficiency of database maintenance to include common tables set-up and report writing 
     

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years’ related experience. 
  • Data analytics skills that include data visualization, data modeling, data mining and statistics.  The ability to take complex data from multiple sources and create business solutions using information. 
  • Strong proficiency of HRMS systems to include tables set-up and report writing; knowledge of other related systems (timekeeping and payroll)
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR), CEBS or other related certification
     

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The work is primarily performed in an office environment and the physical demands are characteristic of a mostly sedentary role.  Specific details of the essential functions of the position is available in the Job Safety Analysis, made available on request.
