Warehouse Lead Operator

A Typical Day
The Warehouse Lead Operator works in various positions in the warehouse, working closely with warehouse supervisors, security team, customer service department, and warehouse staff.
Job Responsibilities
- Ability to work in all positions in the warehouse.
- Ensure inventory accuracy in SAP though various reporting
- Ensure product meets customer’s needs, expectations and requirements. This includes load inspections, proper labeling and packaging.
- Operates the two-way radio in communications with drivers and other department staff
- Provides courteous customer assistance to both internal and external customers.
- Provides coverage as needed for warehousing employees
- Lead and delegate tasks appropriately
- Ability to assume leadership responsibilities, such as problem solving and leading shift meetings.
- Annual completion of OSHA required safety training
- Promote Company Culture
- Active participation and ownership in your training and development program and associated activities, classes and events, which will be held before, during, after shifts and during scheduled days off.
- Help coach and train teammates and participate in on the job training.
- Place high priority on food safety and sanitation by understanding and executing HCC’s food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Hold self and others accountable to HCC’s food safety & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates.
- Participate in food safety and sanitation root cause analysis and improvement activities when required.
- Prioritize safety above all other job duties by having a safety first approach at all times.
- Report any safety issues, observations, opportunities to your teams and follow up.
- Ability to coordinate and lead safety evacuations, including first aid and Man down notifications
What You Will Need
- High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- English skills must be proficient to understand, read, write and speak English.
- Ability to lift 60lbs.
- Be able to work variable shifts and overtime when needed
- Experience working in a warehousing environment
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good mathematical skills and attention to details
- High organizational and time management skills.
- Active/past member of department safety team
- Experience as an On the Job Trainer
- Forklift Certification
What Will Put You Ahead
- Warehousing experience, preferably in a logistics dispatch setting
- Experience working in a dispatch position
- Knowledge of the Department of Transportation truck loading requirements, including weight and load adjustments
- Knowledge of warehouse management software systems
- SAP experience
- Has completed/in the process of completing HCC Level 1 Leadership training
