A Typical Day
The Senior Electrical Engineer & Systems Integrator is responsible for Coordinating and implement plant electrical & control system plans to meet strategic plan objectives of Hilmar Cheese Company.
Job Responsibilities
•Prepare concept design and cost estimates for Electrical Distribution & Controls Systems for projects in the Annual Capital Plan.
•Implement Annual Capital Plan in specific area of responsibility. Coordinate projects to minimize Plant downtime while completing projects on time and within budget.
•Perform detailed calculations to establish standards and specifications for electrical distribution systems.
•Inspect installations and observe operations to ensure compliance with electrical design and electrical equipment specifications and safety standards.
•Ongoing support of Operations Team for their specific Control Systems upgrade, modifications, training, and service needs.
•Maintain documentation for all Control Systems and electrical schematics for Production Plants.
•Maximize effectiveness of Electrical Contractors through daily interaction with crew leader and using a well-defined project scoping. Ensure Contractor is following company requirements for security, safety, and good manufacturing practices.
•Communicate weekly with Production teams via transition meetings as to the current status of relevant projects, including schedules and capital issues
•Coordinate electrical system reliability with local electrical utility company.
•Computer & network design/troubleshooting proficient
•Problem solve and troubleshoot as the need arise.
•Provide support & training for electrical distribution system.
•Use computer-assisted engineering software (AutoCAD) to perform engineering tasks.
What You Will Need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and 7 years’ electrical engineering experience
- Demonstrate ability to lead contract labor and in-house resources outside of your direct influence.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Software such as Outlook and electrical engineering software
- Working knowledge of electrical code requirements.
- Process control systems hardware and software expert.
- Understanding of electrical distribution systems and electrical design for plants.
- Strong understanding of electrical manufacturing processes.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
