A Typical Day

The Security Supervisor under limited supervision provides day-to-day supervision of assigned Security Operations staff and activities on an assigned shift.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage Security Team programs compliance across various levels of the organization. 
  • Develop short and long-term work schedules and assignment of personnel and special details, including company events
  • Conduct shift briefings and ensure personnel are informed of orders, memos, and directives
  • Perform initial review of prepared incident reports and conduct basic investigation, including the gathering of information and questioning of witnesses
  • Ensure that the shifts Daily Activity Reports are completed and turned in at the end of the day 
  • Monitor CCTV and other security equipment to ensure they are working properly.
  • Perform access control for employees, visitors, contractors and vendors in accordance with HCC policies and procedures
  • Maintain first aid and CPR
  • Develop and mentor professional growth & advancement of hourly department staff 
  • Provide and promote “Excellence” in Customer Service by fostering effective, “partnering” relationships with operations teams on an ongoing basis
  • Maintain ‘On Call’ status
  • Complete UMV drone piolet courses and obtain the required FAA certification within 1st  year of employment, as applicable to specific sites
  • Help coach and train teammates and participate in on the job, buddy training

What You Will Need

  • High School diploma an 4 years related experience OR an Associates degree and 3 years related experience OR Bachelor's degree and 1 years of related experience.
  • Able to demonstrate leadership, critical thinking, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Possession of a valid State of California guard card. (If employed in CA) or a valid non-commissioned security license (if employed in TX) within 60 days of hire.
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays and rotating shifts. (day/swing/graveyard)
  • Must obtain CPR & First Aid Certification within 1 year of employment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Software such as Word, Excel and Outlook.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years related experience.
  • 1 year SAP experience 

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The role has periods of time when the work environment is sedentary and conducted in an office environment balanced with frequent occasions that require prolonged walking or standing, lifting/ carrying/handling moderate weight objects on a regular basis.   Is required to wear PPE and have a regular presence in manufacturing and warehouse environments in both temperature controlled and uncontrolled locations. Must frequently interact with people verbally.  Specific details of the essential functions of the position is available in the Job Safety Analysis, made available on request.
