A Typical Day

Responsible for the daily performance and/or monitoring of sanitation duties, maintaining the interior appearance and cleanliness of non-production facilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Safely and properly use necessary PPE required for handling chemicals, fall protection when using ladders and safe operation of cardboard bailer, trash compactor, floor scrubbers and forklifts.
  • Consistently follow all GMP practices
  • Report any GMP/sanitation related areas of improvement
  • Always maintain sanitary conditions in all areas
  • Respond and aid in requests for additional services as needed or with the approval of the Food Safety Supervisor when requests interfere with completion of day to day responsibilities.
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to all internal and external customers.
  • Perform all duties as outlined on the Custodial Master Sanitation Schedule(s).
  • Monitor and report any broken fixtures, equipment, walls, flooring, ceilings and light fixtures immediately.
  • Work in unison with the HCC mission Statement promoting mutually beneficial, long term vendor relationships through customer focus, continuous improvement, supplier cooperation and Quality Thinking.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with ability to comply with deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to maintain professional standards and demonstrate sound judgment during peak periods of activity.
  • Concern for quality internal and external customer service.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to spend time in the cold box area and throughout the plant moving around inventory.
  • The employee will be required to operate a forklift and hand truck.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Active participation and ownership in your training and development program and associated activities, classes and events, which will be held before, during, after shifts and during scheduled days off. 
  • Help coach and train teammates and participate in on the job, buddy training.
  • Place high priority on food safety and sanitation by understanding and executing HCC’s food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Hold self and others accountable to HCC’s food safety & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates. 
  • Participate in food safety and sanitation root cause analysis and improvement activities when required. 
  • Prioritize safety above all other job duties by having a safety first approach at all times.
  • Report any safety issues, observations, opportunities to your teams and follow up.
  • Complete annual OSHA required safety training.
  • Complete annual Company safety training program(s).
  • Complete annual Food Safety overview training.
  • Promote Company Culture
  • Achieve common business goals through cooperative alignment with all departments.

What You Will Need

  • English skills must be proficient to understand, read, write and speak English
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts (days/Swings/graveyard).
  • Lift Truck Certification (within 30 days of employment)
  • Demonstrates proficiency on position-specific Needs Analysis.
  • Ability to lift 45lbs

 

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experiance working with Microsoft Office Software such as Word, Excel and Outlook
  • AA degree (or equivalent work experience) in Business Administration or related field.
  • 1 year’s recent inventory control experience with MRO materials or related field.
