Water Reclamation and Farming Supervisor

A Typical Day

Supervise day to day operations and Maintenance of the Water Reclamation system, laboratory, facility grounds, and staff.  Also, supervise, develop and ensure the safety of the water reclamation and grounds staff.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise, schedule, and organize contractors for general Water Reclamation and Grounds projects. 
  • Assist with Federal and State environmental compliance activities.
  • Assist Farming operations and irrigation scheduling.
  • Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all the water reclamation systems, biogas system, and facility grounds equipment.
  • Monthly & annual tracking of water production to the local water district.
  • Ensure the water reclamation system is operated and maintained in accordance with the sites state issued wastewater permit and federal safety standards.
  • Ensure daily preventative maintenance work orders are completed in SAP.
  • Ensure the water reclamations and grounds landscaping, weed control, and general outside housekeeping is maintained. 
  • Troubleshoot processes and equipment.
  • Organize and maintain the facility bone yard.
  • Maintain the fuel storage containment area, scales, and compactor area.
  • Ensure perimeter fences are maintained and secured.
  • Lead incident investigation activities as required.
  • Snow removal of the driveway and truck traffic areas around the plant.
  • Maintain & audit the grounds in accordance with the facilities storm water (SWPPP) and spill prevention control and countermeasures (SPCC) plans.
  • Assist with Waste and Hazardous Waste Management disposal off site. 
  • Assist with the AMP (Agronomic Management Plan) each year. 
  • Interact with all levels of the company.
  • Assist with the coordination of Soil Sample Collections and updates soil analysis trends.
  • Annual completion of OSHA required safety training.
  • Working knowledge of safety training requirements.
  • Promote a healthy safety Culture and always put safety first.
     

What You Will Need

  • English skills must be proficient to understand, read, write and speak English.
  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays and rotating shifts (day/swing/graveyard).
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Software such as Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs.
     

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Environmental Science degree
  • 2 years supervisor experience
  • 1 year of general knowledge of TCEQ & EPA industrial manufacturing requirements. 
  • Treatment/Environmental Field.
  • 5 years working experience in a manufacturing environment or wastewater treatment. 
  • 3 years mechanical experience 
  • Training or Certification in EPA and/or TCEQ regulatory requirements.
  • Class D, C, B, or A water License
  • Class D, C, B, or A Wastewater License 
  • Nutrient management Specialist Certification

Working surface is primarily concrete. Where standing is required, there are rubber mats which are one-half inch thick.
