A Typical Day
The Loss Monitor will be responsible for minimizing milk solids, chemical, water, and finished product losses through the daily monitoring of waste streams from all Hilmar and Turlock site production areas. Additionally will be responsible for carrying out other Loss Reduction duties in support of Plant operations.
Job Responsibilities
•Lead joint efforts with manufacturing management and supervision to establish process control management standard of performance through which data collected will drive loss response-action and improvement, including process parameters and action levels.
•Manage the daily sample collection, submission and testing of all Loss Monitoring stations.
•Assessment and quantification of product losses as well as timely reporting of results to production staff.
•Report as required on the performance of loss monitoring systems and keep Process/Project Engineers, Technical Services, Quality, Maintenance/E&I, and Water Reclamation staff inform of incidents and trends likely to affect the site’s results.
•Ensure Loss Monitoring stations, measurement equipment are properly calibrated and maintained.
•Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure regular maintenance is carried out on loss monitoring equipment.
•Report daily updates of loss monitoring test results into Site database.
•Initiate/facilitate investigations into losses greater than expected or target levels.
•Propose, coordinate and execute projects that enhance plant processes or procedures and result in loss reduction.
•Effectively summarize and present technical information to a variety of audiences.
•Required to support waste water flow deviations/interruptions as needed, which may include nights and weekends.

What You Will Need
•High School Diploma and 4 years related experience, OR Associate's degree in related field plus 2 years related experience, OR Bachelor's degree.
•Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
•Strong verbal communication skills.
What Will Put You Ahead
•Bachelor's degree in related field plus 2 years related experience.
•Journey-level knowledge of dairy production processes and common area or product loss.
•Journey-level knowledge of CIP systems.
•Ability to read and interpret laboratory analyses.
•Ability to communicate and manage change successfully.
•Working knowledge of FT instrumentation and Historian software.
•Previous experience performing routine preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of flow monitoring equipment and analyzers.
Physical Demands
The role has periods of time when the work environment is sedentary and conducted in an office environment balanced with frequent occasions that require prolonged walking or standing, lifting/ carrying/handling moderate weight objects on a regular basis. Is required to wear PPE and have a regular presence in manufacturing and warehouse environments in both temperature controlled and uncontrolled locations.
