Facilities Supervisor

A Typical Day
The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for the effective execution of all maintenance and project tasks for facilities systems and equipment.
Job Responsibilities
- Knowledge of Steam, Water Treatment/distribution and Ammonia Refrigeration systems and includes special emphasis on ensuring HCC compliance with all RMP/PSM guidelines for ammonia and hazard safety.
- Devote ample time and attention to formal and on-the-job training to enable mechanics to maintain/develop a high level of expertise with both new and existing equipment
- Maintain an “On Call” status for facility related breakdowns and shift coverage
- Achieve common business goals through cooperative alignment with all departments
- Develop and maintain a safe and effective working environment for the Facility Maintenance Team
- Use SAP to create and close work orders, enter equipment data, track inventory and train mechanics on the proper use of SAP
- Continue to develop and implement preventative maintenance programs utilizing SAP.
- Responsible to obtain quotes, then issue, track and GR POs for outside Contractors Work.
- Ensures job quality and efficiency by frequently checking jobs in progress
- Responsible for planning and scheduling Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Third Parties inspection of equipment in areas of ownership.
- Responsible to ensure Weekly schedule is completed the prior week with adequate shift coverage.
- Continuous participation in set up and maintaining the storeroom, shop and CMMS
- Review available planned job package for completeness and correctness.
- Refines and finalizes labor, parts, and priorities for all tasks
- Responsible for planning/scheduling of preventative and predictive maintenance
- Follow-up with mechanics on suggestions of ways to improve either planning or job methods
- Conduct team meetings daily covering safety topics and weekly covering equipment, processes and expansion
- Communicate with the departments to coordinate maintenance items
- Complete CAPAs, Clean Reports and Resolve GMPs Audits Findings in a timely manner.
- Responsible for achieving common business goals through cooperative alignment with all departments.
- Provide detailed reports on downtime issues to promote proactive responses and practices
- Assist Facilities Coordinator and/or Manager with evaluation of future equipment requirements, upgrades and modifications.
- Continuous work on PSM/RMP, ammonia and boiler safety
- Completion of Emergency Response Training to include 24hr initial, 8hr refresher each year.
- Annual completion of OSHA required safety training.
- Maintain HCC’s food safety & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates.
What You Will Need
- High School Diploma and 4 years related experience, OR Associate's degree plus 3 years related experience, OR Bachelor's plus 1-year related experience
- English skills must be proficient to understand, read, write and speak English
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- 3 years of Industrial maintenance experience on ammonia system and boilers.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Software such as Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to lift up to 60lbs.
- Be able to pass a Spirometry and Fit Test to wear an APR (Air Purifying Respirator) and an SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus)
- Maintain clean shave.
- Member of A/ERT (Ammonia Emergency Response Team.)
- Potable/ Waste water experience. Requires a D-1 and T-1 Certification (as applicable)
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor's degree plus 2-year related experience OR Master’s Degree in related field
- 5 years of industrial maintenance experience on ammonia systems and boilers
- Boiler operator level 1 & 2 certifications
- Ammonia operator levels 1 & 2
- RETA “A” or equivalent
- PSM/RMP working knowledge.
- SAP knowledge
- RETA CARO or CIRO certification
Physical Demands & Work Environment
