A Typical Day


The Operational Technology Analyst works under moderate supervision and is responsible for all facets of the application programming lifecycle management for software solutions in a process manufacturing environment.  Leads small to medium sized projects and collaborate with other departments on the analysis, design, troubleshooting, problem resolution, maintenance, and documentation of software systems and programs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops and supports Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and PLC applications under moderate supervision
  • Support manufacturing business team in a 24x7x365 environment
  • Ensures that all applications deliver a consistent high level of quality by minimizing program bugs and inefficiencies through standardized testing procedures
  • Participates in functional and technical specifications reviews, and application code reviews
  • Coordinates efforts across all IT/OT groups and ensures full communication of project-related work to these groups
  • Provides technical support for all applications as necessary, both during and after project completion
  • Assumes technical project leadership role within the project team when designated
  • Gathers and translates business requirements into detailed functional specifications and technical specifications, and manages requests for changes to the specifications.
     

What You Will Need

  • High School Diploma and 10 years related experience OR Associate's degree in related field and 5 years’ experience OR Bachelor's in related field plus 3 years’ experience OR Master’s degree
  • Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to learn, comprehend, and use, various methods, procedures, and techniques used in developing and writing computer programs
  • Strong trouble-shooting, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to effectively manages multiple priorities 
  • Ability to understand complex business processes, rules, and gain business acumen to become subject matter experts

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's in related field plus 5 years’ experience OR Master’s degree plus 1 year related experience
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Control Systems (Rockwell, Wonder Ware, PLC)
    • Dairy knowledge
    • Manufacturing Systems (Filling, labeling, packaging)

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The work is primarily performed in an office environment and the physical demands are characteristic of a mostly sedentary role.  Specific details of the essential functions of the position is available in the Job Safety Analysis, made available on request.
